Textile Workshop: ‘Over the Garden Wall’

Inspired by the gardens, and using fabrics and stitch create your own textile panels with Chris Lee.

 

Monday 30th July

Creative Writing Workshop

With the bones of the whale that inspired one of the key chapters of Melville's Moby Dick to work with, there's going to be no avoiding murk and mystery and the great loom of fate. In this workshop we'll take a close look at the bones of the Burton Constable Moby and consider what guidance, if any, Melville can offer the contemporary writer, for bringing them back to literary life. 

 

23rd & 24th July

Art ‘Taster’ Course

Inspired by the portrait collection, spend two days with art experts – Rose & Robin Horsepool – develop new techniques and get busy painting.

 

Tuesday 31st July

Art Workshop ‘Gothic Passions’

With reference to the Gothic Revival and William Burgess, experiment with patterns & paint with Jacky Ward Lomax.
